Gommatagiri is a sacred pilgrimage centre that beautifully blends spirituality and natural beauty. This lesser-known gem is renowned for its 800-year-old statue of Lord Bahubali, standing tall at 16 feet. This monolithic, granite statue of Gomateshwara stands upon the peak of a hillock named Shravana Gidda. The Bahubali statue at Gomatagiri is quite similar to the one in Shravanabelagola, which measures 58 feet. For Jain devotees, Gommatagiri holds immense religious significance, offering a tranquil space for reflection and devotion. Perched atop the hill, the statue of Lord Bahubali, also known as Gommateshwara, exudes an aura of peace and renunciation. ಗೊಮ್ಮಟಗಿರಿ ಒಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಯಾತ್ರಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಇದು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕತೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸುಂದರವಾಗಿ ಬೆಸೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಈ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ 800 ವರ್ಷಗಳಷ್ಟು ಹಳೆಯದಾದ 16 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಬಾಹುಬಲಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯು ಶ್ರವಣ ಗುಡ್ಡ ಎಂಬ ಶಿಖರದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಗೊಮ್ಮಟಗಿರಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾಹುಬಲಿ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯು ಶ್ರವಣಬೆಳಗೊಳದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಹೋಲುತ್ತದೆ. ಜೈನ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಗೊಮ್ಮಟಗಿರಿ ಅಪಾರ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಗೊಮ್ಮಟೇಶ್ವರ ಎಂದೂ ಕರೆಯಲ್ಪಡುವ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಬಾಹುಬಲಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಯು ಶಾಂತಿ ಮತ್ತು ತ್ಯಾಗದ ಸಂಕೇತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಆಕೃತಿಯು ಜೈನ ತತ್ತ್ವಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಸಾರವಾದ ಅಹಿಂಸೆ, ಸ್ವಯಂ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣ ಮತ್ತು ನಿರ್ಲಿಪ್ತತೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಗೊಮ್ಮಟಗಿರಿಯನ್ನು ಇನ್ನಷ್ಟು ಮೋಡಿಮಾಡುವುದು ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ಮಹಾಮಸ್ತಕಾಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಹೋತ್ಸವ. ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ವೇಳೆ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆಗೆ ಹಾಲು, ಅರಿಶಿನ, ಶ್ರೀಗಂಧ, ಹೂವು ಹಾಗೂ ಹಲವು ಪೂಜಾ ದ್ರವ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದು ರೋಮಾಂಚಕ ಮತ್ತು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕವಾಗಿ ಶಕ್ತಿ ತುಂಬುವಂತಹ ವಾತಾವರಣವನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಆಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸಲು ದೂರದ ಯಾತ್ರಿಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಮಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸಾಂಸ್ಕೃತಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿದೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಗೊಮ್ಮಟಗಿರಿ ತನ್ನ ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಪ್ರಾಮುಖ್ಯತೆಯ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಶಾಂತಿ ಹುಡುಕುವವರಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಕೃತಿ ಪ್ರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಬಿಂದುವಾಗಿದೆ. ಬೆಟ್ಟದ ತುದಿಯಿಂದ ವಿಹಂಗಮ ನೋಟ ಫೋಟೋಗ್ರಫಿ ಅಥವಾ ಶಾಂತಿ ಬಯಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಕ್ತವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ, ಆಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮಿಕ ಅನ್ವೇಷಕರಾಗಿರಲಿ ಅಥವಾ ನಿಸರ್ಗ ಪ್ರಿಯರಿಗೆ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ತಾಣವಾಗಿರುತ್ತದೆ.
