This house is where Narayan spent a significant part of his life, writing many of his iconic works that catapulted Indian literature to global prominence. Built in the 1950s, the house is a modest yet elegant structure that reflects the simplicity and charm of the author’s writing. It was restored by the Mysore City Corporation in 2016 and converted into a museum to honour Narayan’s literary legacy. The museum provides an intimate glimpse into his life, featuring original furniture, photographs, manuscripts, and personal belongings that narrate his journey as a writer.
