Tagadoor is a historical village not far from the temple town of Nanjangudu. It was an important administrative centre in ancient times and was known as Tagadusthala. The Tagadoor Temple Complex which includes the ruined remains of a cluster of temples is the sole witness to the history of Tagadoor.Here one can see temples dedicated to various deities like Mulasthaneshwara, Lakshmi Narayana Swamy, and Ankanatheshwara. The temples here exhibit the architectural styles of the Chola, Vijayanagara, and Hoysala periods.The Mulasthaneshwara temple is in complete ruins, however, based on its architectural style, it is surmised that the temple is from the Chola period. There are temples and other structures from the Hoysala and Vijayanagara periods. Another massive temple complex, namely the Lakshmi Narasimhaswamy temple dating back to the Vijayanagara period is also in ruins. A Kalyana Mantapa built during the Vijayanagara Period was in the limelight during the days of India’s freedom struggle. It was the venue of many programmes organized by Tagadur Ramachandra Rao, a freedom fighter, who was known as, “Mysore Gandhi.”Tagadoor is a place which hides many secrets of history. The place is a haven for those interested in ancient history and temple architecture.

ಶ್ರೀ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀನಾರಾಯಣಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯ, ತಗಡೂರು, ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕು: ನಂಜನಗೂಡು, ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ: ಮೈಸೂರು

ತಗಡೂರು ಒಂದು ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಗ್ರಾಮವಾಗಿದ್ದು, ನಂಜನಗೂಡಿಗೆ ಸಮೀಪವಿದೆ. ಇದು ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಆಡಳಿತ ಕೇಂದ್ರವಾಗಿತ್ತು ಮತ್ತು ಇದನ್ನು ತಗಡು ಸ್ಥಳ ಎಂದು ಕರೆಯಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳ ಸಮೂಹದ ಪಾಳುಬಿದ್ದ ಅವಶೇಷಗಳನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿರುವ ತಗಡೂರು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣವು ತಗಡೂರಿನ ಇತಿಹಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ಏಕೈಕ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಲಸ್ಥಾನೇಶ್ವರ, ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ನಾರಾಯಣಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಮತ್ತು ಅಂಕನಾಥೇಶ್ವರ ಮುಂತಾದ ವಿವಿಧ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೊಳಗಂಡ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಬಹುದು. ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು ಚೋಳ, ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಮತ್ತು ಹೊಯ್ಸಳರ ಕಾಲದ ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪ ಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಹೋಲುತ್ತದೆ. ಮೂಲಸ್ಥಾನೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಶಿಥಿಲಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಆದರೂ ಅದರ ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪ ಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ, ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಚೋಳರ ಕಾಲದ್ದು ಎಂದು ಊಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೊಯ್ಸಳ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಕಾಲದ ದೇವಾಲಯಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರೆ ಕಟ್ಟಡಗಳಿವೆ. ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಬೃಹತ್ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣ, ಅಂದರೆ ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಕಾಲದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ನರಸಿಂಹಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯವು ಸಹ ಪಾಳುಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ. ವಿಜಯನಗರ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಲಾದ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಂಟಪವು ಭಾರತದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಮನದಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು. ‘ಮೈಸೂರು ಗಾಂಧಿ’ ಎಂದೇ ಖ್ಯಾತರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರ ತಗಡೂರು ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರರಾವ್ ಅವರು ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ ಹಲವು ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮಗಳ ತಾಣವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ತಗಡೂರು ಇತಿಹಾಸದ ಅನೇಕ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳವಾಗಿದೆ. ಪುರಾತನ ಇತಿಹಾಸ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ವಾಸ್ತುಶಿಲ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸ್ಥಳವು ಸ್ವರ್ಗವಾಗಿದೆ.
